Mitchell Successfully Completes the CFA Program

CFA LogoIf you missed the recent announcement in the local newspaper, Mitchell Prothman successfully completed the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) program this summer and has earned his CFA Charter. Congratulations!

The CFA designation is the most highly regarded designation in the global financial industry and the most difficult to obtain. To earn the CFA charter, candidates must master advanced topics such as equity and fixed income analysis, derivatives, alternative investments, portfolio management, and economics, along with passing a series of qualifying exams. Each exam requires hundreds of hours of study and, as a testament to its prestige and difficulty, only one in five people who begin the program ultimately earn the right to use the designation.

In addition to the curriculum, CFA Charterholders must adhere to the CFA Institute’s Code of Ethics and Standards of Professional Conduct, which requires clients’ interests to be placed ahead of their own personal interests and their employers, that they maintain independence and objectivity, act with integrity, and maintain and improve professional competence.

Today’s financial markets demonstrate just how important it is to have a qualified, experienced and committed portfolio management team. We are proud to now have to have two CFA Charterholders on staff.

Alitis joins the Casual Friday’s for Cameryn’s Cause

Alitis has joined the Casual Friday’s for Cameryn’s Cause program benefiting the local charity. Cameryn’s Cause For Kids Society was started by the Harris family to honour the courageous life of their daughter, Cameryn, who passed away from a SPNET brain tumour at the age of three. The Society offers families a place to turn to help ease some of those financial concerns encountered while dealing with a child’s health crisis. Cameryn’s Cause also provides information and suggests alternative avenues for families to access other means of financial and emotional assistance.
